Divorce Doula Counselling Group
Divorce Doula Counselling Group is the passion project of a small community of registered social workers and psychotherapists who are experienced in holding space for clients in the midst of transition.
The guiding philosophy of the practice is that people learn to do hard things by doing them--but we don't have to do them alone!! Independence is wonderful, but it is through conscious interdependence--in learning to allow others to help and then paying that help forward-- that the magic of healing and transformation are possible.
Research shows that childbirth is experienced as "easier" and more "identity affirming" with the support and advocacy of an experienced doula. Relationship transition and rebirth are no different. With education and emotional support, relationship uncertainty can be transformed into a future of possibility.
Divorce Doula Counselling Group offers a number of therapeutic modalities to assist with the necessary shifts in perspective that will facilitate healing and personal growth. The practice specializes in trauma-informed customized support services that empower clients to tolerate the distress of transition, relax the mind and create therapeutic space to do the work of challenging unproductive thoughts and behaviours.
Individual, couples, and family counselling are available, as well as a community support opportunity in the form of the "You are Here" group program. Additionally, there are a number course offerings. These courses are intended to advance mindful living and, thereby, help you to recalibrate your navigational system for the future; rebuild your confidence; and attend to your own needs in the midst of change.
Part of the change process is choosing and committing to your own growth. By taking advantage of our comprehensive service offerings, you make the commitment to show up for yourself. If you are able to take that first step, we are confident that you will experience healing, growth, and transformation. We are excited to help you heal, grow in resilience, and become your best self.
